Description
This past summer, we took a trip up to New Hampshire. I’d never been that far north in the United States before (so much to explore here) and wasn’t sure what to expect. Honestly, it’s quite possibly a nature-lover’s playground. Mountains as far as the eye can see, named the White Mountains but so green you feel enveloped by nature. Dense woods hiding wildlife, marshes teaming with frogs and bugs and moose. We rode ziplines and visited escape rooms and hiked by car and by foot. We climbed Mt. Washington and were greeted with a whipping wind, thick fog, and visitors rushing to get indoors.
We shopped in several of the small towns all tucked into the mountains, and in this one store we visited, they wrapped our purchases in feather tissue paper. The paper was so absolutely stunning, with bright colors and metallic accents, and I knew when I got home I’d want to try to paint something similar.
That’s where this 8″ x 10″ is born, from the beautiful north in America.
